L-Acoustics: concert sound, at home
Ask anyone in professional audio to name the leader in premium sound and one name recurs: L-Acoustics. Their systems carry Coachella, Tomorrowland and the last four Super Bowl halftime shows. They are installed in the Hollywood Bowl and in opera houses across Europe. Artists including Adele, Madonna, Hans Zimmer and Andrea Bocelli specify them by contract.
For the last few years, the same engineering has been available for private homes. Not a domestic spin-off: the same concert-grade technology, scaled for home theatres, listening rooms and immersive audio spaces, and recently awarded Robb Report's Best of the Best. The price sits on par with the "top-tier" consumer brands, which makes the choice an unusual one. The real thing, for the money you would have spent anyway.
We know, because we built one of the largest L-Acoustics residential systems ever installed, and it won CEDIA's global award for the World's Best Media Room: a 9.1.4 system of L-Acoustics X8 and X4i loudspeakers with Syva subwoofers, designed with Rose + George, judged that year against every media room entered on earth. That room is our Oxfordshire project, and you can read how it came together there. Homeplay was also the first company in the UK to earn L-Acoustics' Certified Integrator accreditation in the residential channel, trained and certified by L-Acoustics to design, calibrate and install their systems in the home before anyone else in the country.

Our Experience Centre holds the UK's first dedicated L-Acoustics home cinema demonstration room, running a permanent 9.2.4 Dolby Atmos system of X8s with X4i surrounds and Syva subwoofers, and there is a stereo pair of X4is with an SB10 subwoofer playing in our lounge.
