Steinway Lyngdorf: the piano maker's loudspeaker
When Steinway & Sons, makers of the pianos on the world's great concert stages for 170 years, decided to put their name on a sound system, they did not license a badge. They partnered with the Danish audio pioneer Peter Lyngdorf. Steinway Lyngdorf systems are the consequence. Reference-grade music and cinema, engineered as complete systems from source to speaker.
Their RoomPerfect technology measures your actual room and corrects for it, which is why a Steinway Lyngdorf system sounds composed in real rooms with glass, stone and awkward corners, not just in a showroom built for the demonstration.
“The brief was singular: reproduce a Steinway so faithfully that the piano maker would sign it.”
These systems are as at home in a panelled sitting room as in a dedicated cinema. Much of what we install is invisible: architectural speakers behind fabric, electronics in a plant room, leaving only the sound.
We believe in the brand enough that our founder lives with a Steinway Lyngdorf Model S at home, and we designed Steinway Lyngdorf into our Andalusia project. It is not a showroom brand for us, so demonstrations are arranged personally. Ask us.
